Final Fantasy X 100 % Checklist

This is a simple and quick checklist of everything you (me) need to do to finish the game "Final Fantasy X" to 100%.
It won't be very in-dept, but just a checklist with links to further guides.
The names of things in the game (aeons, monsters, items, ...) will be mentioned in English (En) as well as German (De) (as I am playing the game in German) and links will be in both languages too.
Also, there will be references to what I've already done myself, usually hinted to with emojis (✅, ❌, 🔲, 🔳).

Walkthrough

First you'll just have to play through the main story. There is a good walkthrough here if you need one.

One chance only

While playing through the game, don't miss out on these things:

• items for the Anima aeon - make sure you pick up the secret items in each temple, by using a guide (De: icksmehl). You won't be able to reach some of the temples later in the game, without having to fight a dark aeon first.
• get the Al-Bhed primers 19-22 while in their Home (guide DE: icksmehl, EN: jegged - the English guide is more comprehensive).
  • you can merge Al-Bhed knowledge between different save files, so if you missed these in your main save file, you can start a new game and get them there. Also the reward for collecting all is not that great, so you don't really have to do it.
• hunt the butterflies in the macalania woods to get the Saturn Sigil (guide En: jegged, De: icksmehl). That minigame will be much harder later in the game.

General tips

• Better select the basic sphere board (De: Standard Sphärobrett). The difficulty of the game doesn't really change, but I'd argue that the standard board is actually more appealing to advanced players (who want to finish all the post game quests and stuff), because you simply don't have to spend quite as much time with that (but still many, many hours).
• Let all characters fight in all battles, especially boss battles. It's hard to level up a few characters later in the game, when the others are already so much better. Also in some portions of the story you don't have all characters available, so you should train all of them.

• Get all aeons ✅
• Catch all monsters 10 times to unlock monster farm creations ✅
• Get "no encounters" items (optional) ✅
• Get the celestial mirror (De: Solaris-Spiegel) ✅

AP farming

This is a description of how to get AP fast with the don tonberry trick.
Your characters need weapons with these 3 abilities:

		get up to 15 by bribing Sand Worm (De: Sandwurm) from Bikanel Island with 600.000 gil

You'll also need to set the overdrive mode of all characters to comrade or stoic (depending if they or their allies will receive more damage) and have the Auto-Phoenix ability equipped with armor for at least 2 characters.

Gil farming

This is easy. Just sell weapons and armor you don't need dropped by monsters in the monster farm. You get a lot of gil from One-Eye (De: Flügelzyklop) in the species conquest and from Earth Eater (De: Erdverspeiser) in the originals.
